A Season of Grace

Grace is defined as "the free and unmerited favor of God, as manifested in the salvation of sinners and the bestowal of blessings."

During the recent ACFW conference, I experienced grace when I completely missed an agent appointment to only run into the kind person down the hall. When I explained the predicament, she graciously had a few moments to spare in order to speak with me. That my friends, typifies grace, I prayed over the situation and the improbable occurred. Near the end of the conference, an immediate family member became very ill and was hospitalized. The eleven-hour ride back home was filled with prayers and texts to my sister who flew to be with the family member. I am happy to say this beloved person is taking steps toward recovery. Several days after another immediate family member was hospitalized. During that time, my loved one spent almost a week in there we got to know some of the kind nurses and techs who would come into the room for a "breather" from their busy day. One helpful nurse even gave me some medical descriptions to use on a manuscript I've been thinking about for some time. These were pieces of grace

My family and I have been given grace during this tumultuous time, these verses encapsulate last week's experience.

2 Corinthians 12:8-9 "Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me.
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me."

All of this is to say, there are glimpses of grace every day. Kindnesses shared, smiles given by a stranger, and much larger things like being healed from a serious medical issue. As our days grow cooler and shorter look for your season of grace in the days to come. It will find you.

Have you ever experienced grace? Did it come in a season or arrive quickly?
